Three steps to quality control of perfume glass bottles Oct 17 , 2025

As an artistic carrier, perfume bottles are also the protection of precious perfumes. The quality of perfume glass bottles has a great impact on the preservation of perfumes, the experience of using them, and the reputation of the brand.

Material inspection (IQC):

First, the chemical composition of the glass material needs to be tested to ensure its high purity and the absence of harmful impurities, which directly affects the chemical stability of the bottle and prevents it from reacting with the perfume.Secondly, check the color, cleanliness and uniformity of the glass material. Any defects may cause bubbles, stones or streaks in the final product, affecting its appearance and strength.Inspect glass blanks, plastic particles, metal ingots, electroplated parts, seals, nozzle assemblies, etc.

Process Inspection (IPQC):

During the glass melting and forming process, parameters such as temperature and pressure need to be monitored in real time to ensure process stability. The inspector will conduct sampling inspection on the newly formed preforms.Focus on the bottle size, thickness uniformity, weight, and whether there are defects such as deformation and cracks.

Glass bottles: molding dimensions, wall thickness uniformity, mold lines, stones, bubbles, cracks.

Spraying/electroplating: adhesion (100-grid test), wear resistance (RCA), color difference,Gloss, film thickness, corrosion resistance (salt spray test).

Printing: position accuracy, color, clarity, and wear resistance.

Assembly: nozzle function (spray volume, atomization effect, sealing),Bottle cap fit and tightness (torque test)。

Finished Product Inspection (FQC/OQC):

Appearance: No scratches, stains, impurities, uniform color, clear printing.

Dimensions: Tolerances as per drawing (height, diameter, finish).

Performance:

Sealing test: Use pressure or negative pressure equipment to check whether the bottle mouth and the nozzle/bottle cap are tightly fitted.Ensure that the perfume will not evaporate or leak, keeping the fragrance pure for a long time.

Nozzle function: spray pattern, unit spray volume, starting pressure, durability (number of presses test).

Compatibility test: Store the perfume bottle and its contents (or simulated liquid) under specific conditions for a period of time.Observe the bottle material (including glass, metal, and plastic accessories) to see if it is corroded, discolored, or causes the perfume to deteriorate to ensure its chemical stability.

Drop test: simulates the drop resistance during transportation and use (especially glass bottles).

Chemical stability: Glass resistance to internal pressure test (for aerosol perfumes).
